Masters & Triathlon Swimming

Marietta Marlins Masters and Triathlon offers coached practices at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center, Holly Springs and at Aqua-Tots Kennesaw.

SCHEDULE & FORMAT

Monday & Wednesday mornings: 6-7:30am at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center, Holly Springs Two opportunities for hour-and-a-half coached lap swimming. Directions HERE

Friday Clinic morning 6:00-6:45am or 6:45-7:30am at Aqua-Tots, Kennesaw. Choose one of the clinics to resolve technique issues. Directions HERE

Monday-Thursday evenings 6:30-7:30pm at Cherokee County Aquatic Center, Holly Springs; four opportunities for hour-long coached lap swimming.

COACH

Coach Larry Baskin is an assistant with the Marietta Marlins. Larry is a USA Swimming Age-Group coach, Masters level 2 coach, ASCA level 2 coach (level 3 pending), and former high school coach. He is an experienced marathon runner, triathlete: sprint to 70.3 distance, and USA Masters/open water swimmer to 10k.

COST

$68 per month (payable the 5th day of each month) via the coach, and payable by check to Marietta Marlins, Inc. (we can pro-rate coaching fees for partial month start ups). For insurance purposes and U.S. Masters Swimmers competition, product benefits, and Swimmer magazine subscription, all participants (including triathletes) must register annually with U.S. Masters through Georgia Masters. You can be registered as a Marlins Masters, Unattached member, or other club member. Masters swim meets are optional and can be organized for Marlins Masters members. FACILITY & PARTICIPATION

The Cherokee County Aquatic Center offers two 25-yard lanes and an exceptional venue for dry land/triathlon training.

Aqua-Tots Kennesaw offers two, wide, shallow-water lanes (3 ft. depth)–perfect for technique perfection.

GEAR

Participants will need their own paddles, pull buoys, fins, kick boards, and (if advised) snorkels.
