Spring Break Training Schedule…

Following this weekend’s Georgia Northern Divisional Meet, Marlins ease into a Spring Break training break and transition to long course buildup.

The week after Northern Divisionals: there will be NO 5:30 or 6:30am morning practices at MVAC. But afternoon practice schedule remains the same for Developmental through Senior Levels. NO DISCOVERY groups until April 9.

NO practice Saturday, March 31.  NO practices during school Spring Break, April 1-8. So, a long break from March 31 to April 8. 

Regular full schedule resumes for all levels, Monday, April 9.

Northern Divisional Meet Coming UP!

GA Swimming Northern Divisional Championship Meet / March 23-25, Friday-Sunday, Mountain View Aquatic Center

Georgia Swimming’s Northern Divisional meet is a Marlins team meet, and we urge all of our swimmers–Developmental through Seniors–to swim and swim a lot! The meet is at the familiar Mountain View Aquatic Center. This is our final short course meet of the season.

MEET SIGN UP IS DIFFERENT: As a Marlins team meet–Developmental through Senior levels–are expected to swim and will be automatically entered into the maximum individual and relay events. Please…check a soon-coming draft of entries to see your individual events and if you are on a relay team. Drafts of your events will be emailed to you in advance of the meet and you will be billed accordingly.

***IF for some reason there is a day you CANNOT swim, please contact us NOW at entriesmarlins@gmail.com but your coaches are urging you to swim.

A NOTE ABOUT RELAY TEAMS: Relay teams (of four swimmers) rely on each swimmer to participate the day of the relay. Illness and the unexpected happen, but please make every effort to be present for your all your events, ESPECIALLY relays.  We want to build as many Marlins relay teams as possible, and we don’t want to make last-minute changes.

Fees are according to age groups since 10&Unders can swim 5 events, plus relays (Finals only) and 11&Older can swim 3 events, plus relays (since they are eligible to swim Prelims & Finals sessions).

10&Unders:
Friday evening- 
$17.00
Saturday & Sunday- $30 each day

11&Older:
Friday evening- 
$17.50
Saturday & Sunday- $20 each day

The SPRING swimester begins Monday, April 9.  Sign up NOW for the SPRING swimester. WINTER swimester ends by March 24.

Returning Discovery Swimmers

If your swimmer is RETURNING for the SPRING swimester, please let us know by sending your check to: Marietta Marlins, Inc., PO Box 669503, Marietta, GA 30066

*Returning Discovery swimmers DO NOT pay an additional registration fee; DO NOT pay another registration fee.

Discovery 1 level is 3 sessions of 45 min. per week for 12 weeks, for $358
Discovery 2 level is 2 sessions of 45 min. per week for 12 weeks, for $298
Discovery 3 level is 1 session  of 45 min. per week for 12 weeks, for $188

NEW Discovery Swimmers

***New Discovery swimmers will have had a swim assessment by one of the coaches before registering; Discovery swimmers will be able to swim 25 yards freestyle/backstroke.*** 
New Discovery swimmers must include payment of $78 registration fee.

If you have earned a Georgia Swimming All-Star Towel, please make any corrections to the towel order. Click HERE to see that list.

Welcome back Marlins!

TYR–New Marlins Partner!

We are pleased to announce that TYR, U.S.A. is now the newest Marlins partner!

Marlins will seek to ensure that, by December 31 2018, at least ninety percent (90%) of Marlins will be outfitted in a TYR suit and at least fifty (50%) of Marlins are outfitted in TYR warm-ups and bags.

Marlins Swim Across America!

This past Saturday (Sept. 23) Marlins participated in the annual Swim Across America event held through our GA Swimming LSC at Lake Lanier. Marlins SAA swimmers included: Katie Blankinship, Bayne Dotson, Talan Dotson, J.J. Hankins, Jaycee Hoffman, Rose Jones, and Kelci Walsh. “Swim Angels” (swim accompanists) included:  Alex Blankinship, Harleigh Mobley, Samantha Mobley, and Malena Hankins. Marlins swimmers raised a total of $4,325 for cancer research.

This Week at Mountain View–UPDATE!

But “heads up!” Watch for this progressive start-back for the competitive groups, this week and following…

Morning practices THIS WEEK (Sept. 5 week) will be held TUESDAY & THURSDAY ONLY at 5:30-7am for the Sr. & Jr. 1 & 2 groups, and 6:30-8am for the Jr. 1 & 2 middle school option. Regular Saturday schedule for all groups.

Morning practices NEXT WEEK (Sept. 11 week) will be held MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, & FRIDAY ONLY at 5:30-7am for the Sr. & Jr. 1 & 2 groups, and 6:30-8am for the Jr. 1 & 2 middle school option. Saturday, regular schedule for all groups.

Sept. 18 week, full double-sessions, including regular Saturday schedule for all groups.
